Louise Allan Racing
Louise grew up riding ponies on the family farm near Thorney, Cambridgeshire, working her way through the ranks of pony club, hunting and show-jumping before having her first ride in point-to-points at the age of 21. Competing against the best of her day she rode a career total of 83 point-to-point winners and 8 winners under rules on the flat and over fences, including representing Great Britain as an amateur jockey in the Fegentri Series.
She started out training point-to-pointers on the family farm while working as assistant trainer to Pam Sly and was the work rider for the tricky but talented Speciosa, winner of the 1,000 Guineas in 2006. In 2009 she moved to Newmarket, riding for David Elsworth while continuing to train a small number of point-to-pointers at Egerton Stud, before branching out on her own and taking out a full licence in 2011.
Louise is now based at Marlborough House Stables in the heart of Newmarket with direct access to the 2,500 acres of Jockey Club maintained training grounds. She rides out every day, getting to know her horses from the saddle and allowing her to develop individual programmes for each horse to accommodate their needs and quirks. Being a smaller yard with fewer time constraints means the string are often seen on some of the quieter areas of the heath with the horses regularly being out of their boxes for up to 90 minutes.
